Price Comparison of Fresh Apple vs. Apple Powder per kg
How Much Waste: About 8 kg of fresh product is used to obtain 1 kg of apple powder. (The ratio may vary with the type of fresh product, drying method, moisture level and production parameters.)
Dried product price per kg:
Benefits of Using Apple Powder
Using 8 kg of fresh apples, approximately 1 kg of apple powder is obtained, which fits into a small jar.
Due to volume reduction, the storage space required is significantly decreased. The required volume is reduced to about 1/8 compared to the fresh product.
Due to weight and volume reduction, it has become an easy-to-transport product. A 20-ton truckload of fresh apples can fit into approximately 3 pallets in apple powder form.
It does not require cold storage. Keeping it in a cool, dry, and dark place is sufficient for apple powder storage conditions.
The growth rate of bacteria is proportional to the water content in dried apple. During the drying process, the water content of fresh apple drops from 88% to 10%, which lowers water activity and limits bacterial growth in dried apple. Limiting bacterial growth ensures a much longer shelf life.

What is Apple Powder?

Apple powder is produced by drying fresh apples and grinding the resulting product. Fresh apples contain approximately 85% water before drying. During the drying process, the water content of the fresh product is reduced to very low levels. As a result of drying, approximately 1 kg of dried apple powder is obtained from 7 kg of fresh apples. The drying process removes the water from the fresh product, leaving only the apple essence. Consequently, the nutritional values of apple powder, especially protein, carbohydrates, minerals, and fiber, are significantly concentrated.
How is the apple powder we manufacture produced?
Apple powder 0-1 mm: Fresh apples undergo necessary pre-processing before drying. After drying, the apple powder is ground using specialized milling systems to produce the final apple powder.
How to Store Apple Powder?
Dried apple powder has a minimum shelf life of 1 year when stored under appropriate conditions. There are 3 main factors that reduce this period:
- Humidity
- Sunlight
- High temperature
To prevent a reduction in shelf life, it should be kept in its original packaging in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight.
