Dried Orange Peel
What Is Dried Orange Peel?
Dried orange peel is a dried product produced by drying fresh orange peel. Before drying, fresh orange peel has a water content of approximately 80%. Through the drying process, the water content in the fresh product is reduced to very low levels. As a result of drying, 1 kg of dried orange peel is obtained from approximately 5 kg of fresh orange peel. Drying removes the water and leaves the essence of the product. Therefore, the nutritional values of dried orange peel, especially protein, carbohydrates, minerals, and fiber, are significantly increased.
Our dried orange peel varieties that we manufacture are;
Dried orange peel powder 0-1 mm
Dried orange peel fine granules 1-2 mm
Dried orange peel medium granules 2-5 mm
Dried orange peel coarse granules 5-10 mm
Dried orange peel coarse pieces 5-15 mm
How Is Dried Orange Peel Stored?
Dried orange peel has a shelf life of at least 1 year when stored under suitable conditions. There are 3 main factors that reduce this period:
- Humidity
- Sunlight
- High temperature
To prevent a shortened shelf life, it should be kept in its own packaging in a cool, dry environment away from sunlight.
